Rawalpindi - A 22-year-old boy was killed by unknown killers in an under-construction building in Kashmir Colony here at Girja village yesterday.

Upon calling, a team of police station Saddar Bairooni headed by Sub-Inspector Mirza Arif reached the crime scene and shifted the dead body to District Headquarter (DHQ) Hospital for post mortem. The deceased was identified as Muhammad Adnan. He was son of Muhammad Riasat, ex-chairman of union council Girja.

According to a family member, Adnan along with his brothers was running a property office on main Girja Road. He said that Adnan and others closed down their office at 8:30pm on December 27 to go home. However, Adnan made a stopover somewhere while other brothers went home. “After 9:30pm, the cell phone of Adnan was found switched off and the family thought he might be staying with some of his friends for having dinner,” he said adding that the boy did not return home and in morning the family members started searching him in the village. He said that Muhammad Nasir, brother of the deceased, reached an under-construction building located behind their property office and found Adnan lying in pool of blood in a room.

DSP Sajid Gondal, when contacted, said the young man was killed by some unknown killers by hitting hammer or bricks on his head and face. “This is a brutal killing as the killers mercilessly mutilated the face and head of the boy with some heavy article,” he said. The parents of the deceased have lodged a complaint against unknown killers and case would be registered after the post mortem, he said.
