LAHORE - The Lahore High Court has called report from the Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education by July 31 on a petition requesting to restrain the board from announcing the Matric result scheduled to be announced on August 1. The court passed this order on a petition moved by a student, Abbas, who through his counsel Khawar Ikram Bhatti submitted that the petitioner appeared in the exam and answered all questions according to the syllabus and course recommended by the board. The counsel said the board as per routine provided answer sheets to all examiners, which were not in accordance with the syllabus and course. He said this anomaly would badly affect the marking of petitioners and other students papers because the examiners would mark questions as per answer provided to them. He said the board had announced the date for results and the present marking could cause serious damage to the petitioner and thousands of other students. He requested the board should be restraint from announcing the results and it should be done only after providing answer sheets to the examiners according to the syllabus and course.
