RAWALPINDI - District Coordination Officer (DCO) Imdadullah Bosal has said that Sasta Bazars will be established in various towns of the district during Ramazan to ensure provision and availability of commodities of daily use on cheaper rates to the citizens. These bazaars would be set up in Rawalpindi, Kalar Seydan, Gujar Khan, Kahuta, Taxila and Murree, he informed. Availability of fresh fruits, vegetables and other eatables will be ensured in these bazaars and monitoring teams will also monitor the prices and availability of commodities of daily use there on daily basis. The DCO said this while presiding over a meeting of Price Control Committee (PCC) held in his office here on Tuesday. The meeting was also attended by Executive District Officer (Health) Dr Zafar Iqbal Gondal, SSP (Operations) Yasin Farooq, DDOs of Revenue of all tehsils, officers of TMAs, traders office bearers and members of Utility Stores Corporation. The DCO, while reviewing steps for security and cleanliness arrangements, said that the bazaars would be established on spacious places in all towns of the district. He said that the permits for fair price shops and stalls would be given to those persons who were regularly establishing stalls in Sasta Bazaars in the months other than Ramazan. Magistrates would also hold their meetings to check and assess the performance of these bazaars on daily basis. Iftaar points would also be established in the bazaars for Iftaari of Rozadars coming for purchasing, he stated. During the meeting security arrangements in Sasta Bazaars was also reviewed and DCO Imdadullah Bosal directed SSP (Operations) Yasin Farooq to ensure patrolling of police in these bazaars. He also directed police officials to take strict action under law against those shopkeepers involved selling firecrackers during current month of Shabaan. The EDO, Dr Zafar Iqbal Gondal, SSP Yasin Farooq and representatives of traders presented various proposals for ensuring availability of daily use commodities on cheaper rates as compared to the general market. Imdadullah Bosal also constituted monitoring committee comprising a member of union council, members from bazaar committee and TMA officials for each Sasta Bazaar.
