LAHORE –Dust-raising winds and scattered drizzle in the City on Thursday evening provided some respite to the Lahorites from the prevailing sultry weather.

Strong winds and rains at isolated places caused slight decrease in the mercury level, providing some respite from harsh weather conditions during the night.

On Thursday, the maximum and minimum temperature in the City was recorded at 41 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 45 per cent.

According to experts, a seasonal low lies over Northeast Balochistan and adjoining areas with its trough extending eastwards. A shallow westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country.

The local meteorological department has forecast mainly hot and dry weather for most parts of the country, including the City, during the next 24 hours.

However, dust-thunderstorm / rain is expected at isolated places of Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Rawalpindi, Gujranawala, Lahore, Sargodha, Makran and Sukkar divisions, besides Kashmir and Gilgit- Baltistan.
