PESHAWAR – The Provincial Police Officer Muhammad Akbar Khan Hoti has said that Elite Force is the backbone of the police force and its jawans have set glorious traditions of professional commitment and devotion to duty for the internal security of the country.

This he said while addressing the passing out parade of the 8th Basic Elite Course of the Elite Force as a chief guest at Azad Kashmir Regiment Centre, Manser Attock on Thursday. The police chief said the Elite Force jawans proved their mettle against terrorists and saboteurs in a short span of time since its establishment and its short history was full of sacrifices and professional commitment of its jawans. He pointed out that the whole country particularly the Khyber Pakhtunkhawa was confronting the challenges and menace of terrorism for the last few years. He, however, said that the Elite Force jawans inflicted heavy loses to the terrorists and succeeded in flushing out them and thus kept the province safe to a large extent. The chief guest informed that Elite Force was the best unit of the police force and its jawans had rendered unprecedented sacrifices for the prevention of terrorist activities and maintenance of law and order.

The IGP made it clear that the internal security and solidarity of the country and maintenance of law and order was due to the untiring endeavors and best hard training of the Elite jawans and directed the newly passed out jawans to keep aloof the golden tradition of the Elite force after their induction in it. He congratulated the newly passed out jawans and hoped that the newly passed out Elite jawans will bring more laurels and success for the force due to sheer hard work and professional commitment.

Earlier, Commandant Elite Force Tariq Javed while presenting the welcome address informed the chief guest about the various training imparted to the jawans during the four months course ie heavy weapons training, repelling, snipper firing, Jude karate, VIP protection, mountain craft and survival training etc. Constable Main Mudassar Shah of Peshawar was declared best al-round cadet of the course.

 while Syed Wajid Shah of Battagram stood 2nd and Iftikhar Ahmad of Mansehra 3rd in al-round activities. Constable Fawad Khan in 4km race, Hafiz-Ur-Rahman in physical training, Awal Baig in boxing, Zia Muhammad best in fire and Syed Haider shah won special prize. The Police chief decorated the passed out jawans with special Elite badges. A total of 462 jawans passed out the course.

It is worth mentioning here that Basic Elite Course is called induction course of the Elite Force and after its successful completion police force jawans become eligible of its induction in the Elite Force.

The IGP also presented special police shield to chief instructor SSG and his team. He also gave certificates to the Elite Force instructors.

Speaker Provincial Assembly Kiramat Ullah Chagher Matti, Additional IGP Operations Liaqat Ali Khan, Additional IGP Investigation Masod Afridi, Additional IGP Special Branch Syed Akhtar Ali Shah, Chief Capital City Police Syed Itmiaz Altaf, DIG Inquiry Qudrat Ullah Marwat and other high ranking Elite Force officers largely attended the ceremony.
