LAHORE – The City Traffic Police Lahore (CTPL) have planed to ensure special deployment comprising extra traffic wardens on Canal Bank Road to maintain smooth flow of vehicular activities from Friday until Sunday.

CTPL spokesman Ali Nawaz said that four inspectors and 62 traffic wardens would be deputed on both lanes of the road under the supervision of two Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs). Elaborating the plan, he said that, due to summer vacations, hundreds of citizens especially youth gathered at the Canal during sizzling heat. “Usually, they park their vehicles around the two sides of the road and allow them to create hurdles that cause worst gridlocks on this road,” he stated. The spokesman also requested the citizens to avoid parking their vehicles around the two sides of the road and use parking lots for this purpose.
