MULTAN - The district administration has set up a flood control room in collaboration with the Rescue 1122 on the special directive from the Chief Minister office in view of upcoming monsoon season. The control room will help launch help and rescue activities in case of flood besides issuing flood warning. The control room is set up at Rescue 1122 Kalma Chowk office.

Addressing a meeting after inaugurating the control room, District Officer Coordination, Nausheen Tariq said that all districts of South Punjab were at the risk of flood because of a heavy monsoon forecast.

She added that all out arrangements were made to cope with flood-like situation.

Speaking on this occasion, district emergency officer Dr. Waseem Hashmi said that the motive behind holding mock exercises was to test the situation of inter-departmental coordination, safety plan and work strategy. He added that the exercise could help achieve good results in flood days.
