LAHORE  - A man gunned down his 23-year-old girlfriend after a brief altercation at his house in Sabzazar on Wednesday, police said. The killer is at large while the body was moved to morgue for autopsy.

Initial investigation revealed that Zeeshan had been in love with Aasma Bibi, a resident of Awan Town. The woman along with her mother visited the house of Zeeshan in Bilal Town on Peco Road on his request.

The man exchanged harsh words with his beloved over some affair. He got infuriated, took out a gun, and opened fire on Aasma. The killer fled from scene leaving the woman in a pool of blood. She was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced as brought dead.

Mother of the deceased told the investigators that Zeeshan wanted to tie his knot with Aasma but she was reluctant to marry him. Police are investigating.

Murdered: A father of five was killed by his younger brother over property dispute in Gulberg. Police said on Wednesday that Amanat hit his brother Younis in the head with a brick as both the brothers scuffled over property dispute at their house. Younis sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to a hospital, where he expired. Amanat managed to escape from the scene. The body was moved to morgue for autopsy.

Police have registered a murder case against Amanat and are investigating.

Shootout: An alleged bandit was killed during an armed encounter with the police in Gulshan-e-Ravi on early Wednesday. According to police, two robbers were fleeing on a motorcycle after looting a passerby when the victim informed the emergency police (Rescue-15) about the incident.

A police team started chasing the bandits. As the police reached close to the bandits they opened fire on the cops, triggering an armed encounter in the residential locality. When the fire was stopped one of the bandits was found shot dead while his accomplice managed to escape from the crime scene. Police removed the body, yet to be identified, to the morgue for autopsy.
