OUR STAFF REPORTER WAZIRABAD - 55th death anniversary of Maulana Zafar Ali Khan was observed in his native village Karamabad, 2km away from here Wazirabad. Maulana Zafar Ali Khan Trust (MZAKT) Chairman Ch Khalid Mehmood, Mujeebur Rehman Shami, Hamid Mir, Mohammad Asif Bhalli, Dr Mugheesud Din, Mansha Qazi, SM Akhtar Nasir, Media Advisor to CM Punjab Rauf Tahir, Asstt Commissioner Abdul Sattar Isani and GIC Wazirabad Principal Ch Ashfaq Ahmad participated in the event. MZAKT Chairman Ch Khalid Mehmood stated that there was no contradiction in thinking, writings and action of Maulana and sacrificed his time, newspaper and finance but did not left target. Maulana took part in all movements for the betterment of the nation, he said, adding, when there will be no hero then fake leaders come up and put the whole nation in trouble. He stated, Youth should be told about the leaders who took the country at the acme and how they can be produced. Ch Khalid said that MZAKT has decided to establish Maulana Zafar Ali Khan Newsium in Lahore near Qaddafi Stadium. He announced that the winner of Maulana Zafar Ali Khan Achievement Award for 2011-12 was Hamid Mir and Mujeebur Rehman Shaami gave him the award and cash prize of Rs50,000. Mujeebur Rehman Shaami stated that the idea of unity of Muslims was give by Zafar Ali Khan who roused the Ummah and made it fearless. He further added that Punjab is a rich soil and produced personalities like Zafar Ali Khan and Allama Iqbal. Soul of Maulana should be in the present leaders so that they may act according to their decisions they take. Dr Mughees Uddin, Mansha Qazi, Mohammad Asif Bhalli, SM Akhtar Nasir, Media Advisor to CM Rauf Tahir, Asstt Commissioner Wazirabad Abdul Sattar Isani, Masood Ali Khan and Raja Asad Ali Khan also addressed on the occasion. Earlier, all the guests of honour laid floral wreath on the grave of Maulana and offered Fatiha.
