ISLAMABAD (APP) - Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) will be holding a meeting on Nov 29 with Ministry of Finance for finalizing the process of interest-free loans for flood-hit farmers of Sindh. A senior official of the ZTBL told APP here on Monday that the mechanism and modalities of interest-free loans for flood affect people of Sindh had almost been finalized by the bank. The officials of bank will present these mechanism and modalities with ministry to finalize the process of loans, he added. He said that if the these mechanism and modalities were accepted, the ministry would provide the funds for loans to be distributed among flood victims of Sindh. He said that during the meeting of Central Executive Committee (CEC) of bank held on Saturday,the body discussed mechanism and modalities of interest-free loans in the agenda. On the directives of SBP and ministry of Finance, the bank had developed a mechanism and modalities of interest-free loans to the flood-affected farmers of the Sindh. He said that the first meeting of Board of Directors (BoD) of bank was also held at Lahore to work out the mechanism and modalities for distribution of loans to the affected farmers. The interest-free loans will be distributed in those districts of flood-hit areas of Sindh where the crops were severely destroyed, he added. It is pertinent to mention here that Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani announced the interest-free loans for farmers of flood-hit areas, during his visit to these areas of Sindh.
