LAHORE - Namra Imran once again with her superb bowling steered Lahore Region to eight-wicket victory over Peshawar Region in the U-19 National Women Cricket Championship match here at the Country Club, Muridke on Monday. Peshawar Region, after winning the toss and elected to bat first, scored 71/8 in the allotted 20 overs with Zainab Khan (41). Namra Imran bowled superbly to get 5/7 Lahore Region, in reply, chased the target successfully for the loss of just wickets in 16.4 overs. Namra Imran of Lahore Region was named player of the match. In another match of the day, Karachi Region defeated Multan Region by five wickets. Karachi Region scored 99/7 in 20 overs. Umaima (24), Sana Urooj (16) played well. Hadia Hussain of Multan Region bagged 2/16. Najma Zafar and Areeb Shamim batted excellently but failed to save their side from 5-run defeat. Najma Zafar scored 35, Areeb Shamim (33) played well. Umaima Sohail of Karachi Region was declared player of the match. In the last match of the day, Faisalabad Region beat Islamabad Region by four runs. Faisalabad Region posted 142 /3 in 20 overs with Fakhira Safdar scoring unbeaten 48 runs and Sehrish Arif 39. Fazeela Akhlaq took 2/19. Islamabad Region scored 138/6 in 20 overs. Nazish made 48 runs and Fazeela 30. Uzma claimed 3/25. Fakhira Safdar of Faisalabad Region was named player of the match.
