Our Staff reporterS BAHAWALNAGAR/ MANDI BAHAUDDIN/ SIALKOT: - On the call of the Punjab Bar Council, the local lawyers fraternity on Monday observed a complete strike and boycott of courts. They also held a protest meeting to condemn the Nato airstrikes on a Pakistani checkpoint that killed 28 soldiers. Addressing the meeting, lawyers representatives termed the raid as unprovoked and blatant aggression. It was violation of our sovereignty and independence, they added. They condemned the killing of military personnel who were fighting the US war and had rendered unprecedented sacrifices for the cause. They alleged that the incumbent rulers were the most corrupt and they had mortgaged the national dignity and pride. The rulers are just trying to please their foreign masters to prolong their stay in power and they have nothing do with the country or its integrity and sovereignty, they alleged. They also blamed tohat the top leadership of the army was being in league with the corrupt rulers. They further said this was not for the first that such incident of violating of the national sovereignty and killing of soldiers. BAHAWALNAGAR: The District Bar Association Bahawalnagar observed a complete strike against the killing of 24 soldiers in an unprovoked attack by Nato. According to detail, the DBA went on strike to express solidarity with the nation and condemned the killing of Pakistani soldiers during Nato attack. The lawyers hoisted black flag on Bar Room as a sign of protest. DBA President Ch Noor Hassan while speaking on the occasion, said that such a cowardice act exposed the relationships with so-called allies. Pakistan has been paying heaviest cost in so-called war on terror, but unfortunately we are rewarded with the killing of our own people, he added. The DBA also adopted condemnation resolution on the sad incident. Meanwhile, the Bahawalnagar Press Club passed unanimous condemnation resolution against the Nato attack during an emergent meeting. The resolution read that Pakistani nation could not allow anyone to attack its armed forces or the country sovereignty. The meeting was presided over by Press Club President Gulzar Ahmad Chaudhry while General Secretary Shahid Nazar tabled the resolution during the in meeting to express anger over the unprovoked attack. KHARIAN: The Tehsil Bar Association Kharian observed a strike on Monday in protest against Nato airstrike which claimed precious lives of Pakistani soldiers. The lawyers did not attended courts as a result routine system of court was paralysed. The lawyers strongly condemned the Nato attack. SIALKOT: The hundreds of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) workers Monday took out a rally against the Nato forces unprovoked shelling on Pakistani border posts, in which the 24 Pakistan Army soldiers were killed. PTI District President Umer Farooq Myere led the rally which began from Sialkot Press Club and ended at Allama Iqbal Chowk after passing the main city roads. The rally participants, carrying banners and placards, chanted slogans against Pakistani government and USA-led Nato forces. The hundreds of the party workers including traders, lawyers, industrialists, doctors and educationists attended the rally. Later, the PTI men staged sit-in at Allama Iqbal Chowk. Addressing the participants, the PTI district leadership expressed solidarity with the armed forces of Pakistan. They strongly criticised the Pakistan government for not giving a befitting answer to the invading Nato fighter jets in Pakistan, saying that the stopping of the Nato supplies through Pakistan only was not enough to tame the allied forces. The protesting leaders asked the rulers to teach some unforgettable lessons to the Nato, in a bid t avert any further such incident in future. They added PTI was ready to give every sacrifice to defend the every inch of the motherland. Meanwhile, In Daska, the hundreds of lawyers Monday also took out a rally against the Natos shelling. Daska Bar President Muhammad Asif Bajwa led the rally, which began from Bar Association and ended at Fawara Chowk. The protesting lawyers chanted slogans against US-led Nato forces. They expressed complete solidarity with the Pakistan armed forces. NANKANA SAHIB: The lawyers fraternity observed black day against the Nato attacks on the call of District Bar Association (DBA) here on Monday. The Nankana Bar Association also boycotted courts to condemn the unwarranted Nato attacks and express sympathies with the bereaved families. DBA President Ch Haq Nawaz had given a call to observe black day against the Nato helicopters firings in Mohamand agency, while the lawyers of the bar association responding to the call observed black day by hoisting black flags, holding protest meeting and a rally. Hundreds of lawyers took out a protest rally against that marched through different roads of the city. They were shouting slogans against Nato forces attack and killing of Pakistani soldiers. Later, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Tehsil Organiser Shahid Mahmood along with party workers also joined the rally at Barri Chowk. The people of the city spray flower petal participants of the rally. DBA President Ch Haq Nawaz, Rai Haq, Advocate Ch Abdul Latif Tahir, Advocate Asif Ali Bhatti and advocate Saeed Bhatti condemned the American state terrorism against Pakistan and demanded the government and Pak-Army to withdraw its support from so-called war on terror. HAFIZABAD: The lawyers of Hafizabad and Pindi Bhattian observed black day to express its resentment and indignation over the aggression by Nato planes killing over two dozen army men and injuring 40 here on Monday. They hoisted black flags a top the chambers and wore black armbands to protest against the blatant attack on the Pak-army check post. The protesters raised slogans against the NATO and US down with US imperialists. DBA President Malik Irshad Mumtaz Awan and General Secretary Syed Asim Bokhari said enough is enough and appealed to General Kayani to give befitting reply to any future aggressor. According to General Secretary, they have boycotted the courts and would take out a rally in the city on Tuesday to protest against the attack by US-NATO planes on the army check post. Later, the lawyers offered fateh for the martyred army men.
