ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Peoples Partys (PPP) Secretary Information Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that his party had warned that if Shah Mahmood Qureshi would continue levelling serious allegations against the President of Pakistan and the Prime Minister, the party could move court of law against him. In a statement issued on Monday, Kaira said so far party had adopted great restraint against Qureshi but it would not tolerate any criticism of PPP leadership any further and would proceed against him under the law of the land. He further said that by terming both President and Prime Minister as security threat, Mahmood was violating the Constitution of Pakistan. as well as by making public the sensitive information he was committing the breach of the law of the land and hence liable to prosecution in the court of law. The PPP leader continued that according to the Constitution and oath of his ministry, Qureshi was bound to remain silent about the important secrets of the foreign policy. Qureshi, however, is disclosing those for political point scoring, he added. He said that Qureshi could also be legally charged for levelling severe allegations against President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and other high profile party leaders. We can move the court against him (Qureshi) if he continues targeting our leaders, Kaira maintained. On the issue of insecurity of nuclear programme under Zardari, the party spokesperson said that he had gone below the belt and his statements were just meant to political point scoring and creating panic among the masses.
