LAHORE - The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CCA) has approved the service regulations along with considerable increase in salaries and allowances of all employees.

Addressing CAA employees and officers at Allama Iqbal International Airport on Tuesday, Director General Muhammad Yousaf said that decision was made during a meeting of CAA Board of Directors held last month. The increase in pay is in accordance with charter of demand between union (CBA) and CAA's management and all the employees would get substantial benefits, he further said.

Airport Manager Lahore, Public Relations Manager and other senior CAA officers were also present on this occasion.

The MD CAA further informed that the Board had issued instructions regarding simultaneous implementation of service regulations 2014 and increase in pay/allowances. By implementation of new CAA service regulations 2014 and increase in pay, the Aviation authority of the country would be in a position to resolve amicably present and future challenges regarding service structure of employees, he said.

He also hoped that the new service structure would provide best possible opportunities regarding service matters and would convert PCAA an exemplary organisation in Aviation industry.

“Passengers are our real focus and they need our attention,” Yousaf said, directing all the concerned authorities to facilitate passengers. He further stressed that standard of available passenger facilities in lounges should be enhanced so that tangible improvements might be visible. He instructed that all resources must be utilised to resolve passenger's complaints through PCAA's newly introduced passenger's feedback and complaint cell.

The CAA service regulations 2014 and increase in salaries of employees would be implemented with effect from 30th September 2014.

The MD CAA added that foolproof security arrangements had also been made at all the airports with the help of Airport security force and other law enforcing agencies.

Yousaf also issued instructions to Horticulture authorities to improve landscaping around the Lahore Airport to give a feel to the passengers of historic beauty, sappiness and lush greenery of Lahore.

He added that the PCAA was struggling hard for expeditious completion of its Mega projects including Gwadar, Multan and New Islamabad Airports by utilising all its resources.

Prior to his address, the DG visited CAA public school located at Walton Airport. After inspection of class rooms and teaching techniques, he was briefed regarding educational standards of the school.

The DG CAA committed that all essential requirements of school would be provided on emergent basis. He announced 15 per cent increase in the salaries of all the teachers of CAA public School.
