LAHORE - The provincial metropolis on Tuesday experienced worst traffic mess when dozens of MWM activists staged a sit-in outside the Camp Jail at Ferozepur Road. The MWM workers also chanted slogans against the government after the police again took into custody their leader, who was released from the prison after years. Worst traffic mess was witnessed on the leading arteries particularly on the Ferozepur Road, Jail Road, Mall Road, and adjoining road as hundreds of motorists were seen trapped on the roads.

The traffic wardens were unable to control the traffic snarl up on the busy roads and adjoining arteries. The policemen diverted the traffic towards already packed roads which multiplied the miseries of the motorists. Some commuters were seen arguing with the wardens at the Jail Road after getting stuck in the traffic chaos. Meanwhile, heavy police contingents including senior officers rushed to the spot and managed to disperse the protesters after holding a series of negotiations with them.
