Armed muggers robbed two Grain market traders of Rs1 million here on Tuesday.

According to details, traders Muhammad Abid and Altaf, resident of 77/10-R were returning homes from Khanewal in their Suzuki Mehran Car after recovering Rs one million from the market. On a speed breaker, two muggers, riding a Honda 125 motorcycle intercepted them and snatched Rs one million from them.

Following the incident, traders of Grain market and civil society activities protested against the incident and blocked main Lahore-Multan Road to vent off anger against the worst law and order in the district. The protesting traders claimed people helpline 15 did not attend their call and police responded to the occurrence very late. The police have launched investigation into the incident.
