Islamabad - Leaders and workers of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) on Tuesday staged a protest demonstration outside Election Commission of Pakistan for ECP’s failure to recount votes in NA-122, a constituency represented by Speaker National Assembly and PML-N lawmaker Ayaz Sadiq.

The angry supporters led by PTI’s stalwart Azam Swati burnt effigies of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, accusing the ECP of what they termed sleeping over the recounting of votes in NA-122.

The protesters, including women, chanted slogans against Speaker Ayaz Sadiq and alleged him for hiding behind a stay order. “Speaker Ayaz Sadiq is MNA only because he has brought a stay order from a court seeking delay in recounting votes in his constituency. It is shameful that ECP has not recounted votes in NA-122,” the protesters said.

They accused the ruling PML-N of rigging general elections massively in its favour and vowed that PTI under the leadership of Imran Khan would continue to expose the government for its rigging and failure to probe rigging.
