Islamabad - Islamabad police have arrested six persons for their alleged involvement in drug peddling, selling fake gold ornaments and possessing illegal weapons.

Shalimar police apprehended two women identified as Gulshan and Ayesha for selling fake gold ornaments. Bhara Kahu police recovered 19.8 kilograms hashish and weapons from the custody of two persons, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.

Following the directions of IGP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan, special checking at entry as well as exit points of the city is being conducted and during this vigilance, Bhara Kahu police nabbed two drug pushers Shafiq Afridi and Shabir with 19.8 kilograms hashish.

Tarnol police arrested an accused Abdul Rasheed for accommodating a proclaimed offender while Koral police nabbed Tahir for having a 12-bore repeater gun. Cases have been registered against the nabbed persons and further investigation is under way, the spokesperson added.
