PESHAWAR - Deputy Governor of Afghanistan’s Kunar province Qazi Muhammad Nabi Ahmadi was abducted by unknown persons from the Dabgari Garden area of Peshawar on Saturday.

Afghan Consul General Moeen Mrastyal told media persons that Governor Ahmadi had come to Peshawar on Thursday and he had an appointment on Saturday for his medical check-up before he was kidnapped by unknown persons.

He said that they were in touch with law enforcement agencies to trace the location of the kidnapped Kunar province governor as his family was worried about his sudden disappearance. Mrastyal said that his mobile phone was going switched off.

Police have started search operation for the recovery of the kidnapped Afghan deputy governor.
