Kandhkot - Kashmore Police on Saturday claimed to have nabbed five criminals in a search operation from katcha area. According to Kashmore Police Spokesman Nadar Channa , a heavy contingent of police, led by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), raided a hideout in katcha area and arrested five outlaws.

When this scribe contacted Kashmore Police chief Bashir Ahmed Brohi, he said that the arrests were result of a big operation, which had been launched against the criminals in katcha areas of the district.

Giving more details, Barohi said that police, on a tip off, cordoned off the Chandu Bungalow area and took into custody Mohammed Essa, Sanaullah, Habibullah, Wali Dad and Heerudin.

He further said that Mohammed Essa was wanted in connection with various heinous crimes such as robberies, dacoities and street crimes, while further investigation was underway.

An ‘absconder’ held:

Meanwhile, Kandhkot police on Saturday said it had held an absconder from the jurisdiction of Kandhkot Police C-section. According to police spokesman, police personnel, on a tip-off, caught Kundal Mahmdani, an absconder, from Khershah. Police said he was wanted to different police stations of Kandhkot and Kashmore in connection with several cases. Moreover, Kandhkot police apprehended a criminal during snap checking here on Saturday.

According to police spokesperson, Israr Ahmed Marri was held in the jurisdiction of Police C-section near Rasool Abad Laro. SHO Khalil Ahmed Rind told The Nation that he was wanted in connection with several cases.

Six ‘gamblers’ arrested

Meanwhile, police have claimed to have apprehended six gamblers red-handed from a gambling den.

According to details, Kandhkot police raided a gambling den in Rasaldar and took into custody six gamblers besides seizing the cash.

The raid was led by Station House Officer Anees Ahmed Soomro. When contacted, the SHO told The Nation that the raids were part of an ongoing drive against lawless elements, particularly peddlers, gamblers as well as street criminals.

He said police had caught Mehar Din, Munaf, Fazal, Zafar,  Mahboob and others red-handed.

However, no case was registered till the filing of this news.
