RAWALPINDI - Two people have been murdered in different localities of the city here on Friday.

The local police registered cases and started investigation with no arrest so far.

According to details, a British national of Pakistani origin Malik Muhammad Iqbal was gunned down at Chakri Road, the area of Police Station (PS) Saddar Bairooni.

The police, quoting the statement of the applicant, said that Muhammad Bilal along with unknown men launched an armed attack over the house of Muhammad Iqbal injuring him critically. Later, Iqbal died while was being transported to hospital, the police added. A murder case was registered and interrogation was on, the police informed.

In another dare street robbery incident, four robbers murdered a poor chicken seller on offering resistance at Bangish Colony, in the limits of PS Pirwadhai.

The police said that one Gul Zeb was going to open his chicken shop when four muggers intercepted him and pointed their guns over his head demanding the valuables. Upon showing resistance, the robbers opened fire and killed Gul Zen. After committing the crime, the robbers managed to flee from the scene, police said. The police took up murder cases against the unknown intruders and started investigation.
