As a result of ongoing escalation of tension on the Line of Control due to frequent unprovoked firing by the Indian troops, the scheduled visit of a trade delegation from Indian-occupied Jammu & Kashmir to Azad Jammu & Kashmir has been delayed, announced AJK CCI.

The traders’ delegation from Srinagar and Jammu cities of the Indian-held Kashmir state was scheduled to cross the LoC on Wednesday through weekly trans-LoC Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus to commence the visit of Muzaffarabad and Mirpur, the major business hubs of AJK to exchange ideas with their local counterparts from AJK. “Yes, the visit of the IHK trade delegation has been delayed due to the tense situation along LoC and the reported current strange relations between Islamabad and New Delhi,” said Muhammad Shafiq, Secretary General of AJK Chamber of Commerce & Industry while talking to this scribe.

“The visit has been  delayed till mid October this year,” the AJKCCI official said and hoped normalcy and better sense would prevail in the best interest of all including the  people of Jammu & Kashmir living across the LOC. It may be added that it was the first-ever visit of any trade delegation from Indian occupied Jammu & Kashmir since the trans-LoC trade was commenced on October 21, 2008. A 19-member AJKCCI has already performed successful visit to IOK in September 2008 which led to the advent of the trans-LoC trade between the business fraternity of the Indian held Kashmir and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
