The Malakwal Police have arrested six proclaimed offenders wanted by Quetta police, claimed SHO Tariq Warriach while talking to media persons here the other day.

He said that the accused were holed up in Bela of River Jhelum over a period of time and were committing robberies on roads. He along with the huge police contingent crossed the river on boat and raided their hide outs in Bela near Nasirpur the other night. The accused resisted but the police succeeded in arresting them. During investigation, the accused admitted that they had murdered five persons on eastern bypass in Quetta near Mengal Town.

Meanwhile, when contacted the New Sohrab Police SHO on telephone confirmed that the accused were wanted in two murder cases registered against them. The police also recovered a sword and rifles. The accused told the police that they used the sword to sever head from the body of the murdered persons. The accused include Khan Muhammad, Miran, Rasul Ahmed, sons of Sanjar Khan, Bakhtiar, son of Ameer Ahmed, Qul Khan, son of Wazir Khan and Din Muhammad, son of Khan Muhammad.

FILING OF NOMINATIONS: The filing of nomination papers by candidates for the seats of general councillor Municipal Committee Mandi Bahauddin came to an end last night at 12 pm, said RO Tahir Nadeem Sandhu. 219 nominations papers in total were received for 33 seats. They include nomination papers of six women.
