Pak Suzuki partners with Karandaaz, Meezan Bank

KARACHI (PR): Pak Suzuki Motor Company recently signed a corporate partnership agreement with Karandaaz Pakistan and Meezan Bank to help provide financial access to Small and Mid-Size (SME) automotive part vendors in Pakistan. This tripartite agreement forms part of the USD 50 million Corporate Vendor and Distributor Finance Program launched recently by Karandaaz Pakistan and Meezan Bank.

Speaking at the signing ceremony held at Pak Suzuki Motor Company’s head office at Karachi, Hirofumi Nagao, Managing Director Pak Suzuki Motor, appreciated Meezan Bank and Karandaaz Pakistan’s efforts in addressing the unique banking needs of SMEs in Pakistan.

He recalled, “In 2007, when the automobile industry was booming, both Pak Suzuki and its local vendors took the initiative of upgrading their facilities to cope up with the demand. The timing of this program is opportune since after a period of 8 years, the automobile industry is again showing positive signs.

I believe that this program will help local industry players in upgrading their facilities to respond to the increasing demand.”

FFC achieves ISMS

ISLAMABAD (PR): In recognition of the commitment to global standards for information security best practices, the Fauji Fertilizer Company (FFC) has become one of the first organizations in fertilizer industry in Pakistan to achieve ISO 27001:2013 certification for its Information Security Management System (ISMS) under the leadership of Dr. Mukhtar Hussain, CIO of the company.

The SGS (UKAS accreditation body) carried out an extensive audit and recognized ISMS of IS Division in line with the requirements of the ISO 27001:2013 standard, says a press release.

For this achievement, FFC Information Systems Division also shows its gratitude to ITnIS Consulting for providing consultancy for ISMS certification process. FFC received its official certificate of registration this month having a validity period of three years.

As a result of this achievement, the FFC is now able to systematically identify and combat an entire range of potential threats and risks to its information assets. It has further strengthened its commitment to providing its stake holders with the necessary levels of assurance regarding the way the information is managed and secured.

Systems Ltd completes CDC project

LAHORE (PR): Systems Limited has completed their project in eight months with the Central Depository Company of Pakistan (CDC). The CDC of Pakistan is now equipped with CRM solution, provided by Systems Limited which is now able to handle all queries, complains and transactions of its clients with the help of extended Service Level Agreements feature.

The new CRM solution implemented by Systems Limited will enable CDC to eliminating paperwork and manual processes, redundant data entry, a user friendly case record system and streamlining order completion and customer service processes. Allegations on TDAP CE

KARACHI (PR): TDAP has condemned the statement issued by Senator Haji Ghulam Ali & Mian Zahid Hussain published in few newspapers in which various baseless allegations were levelled against S M Muneer, chief executive TDAP. TDAP said S M Muneer is taking part in trade promotional activities as per the mandate of TDAP. Therefore, these promotional activities cannot be termed interference in the affairs of FPCCI. The false impression is being given that he is acting against the orders of High Court of Islamabad, it said. CE TDAP has no concern with the elections of FPCCI and TDAP is facilitating all exporters without any discrimination.

Tevta to provide loans

LAHORE (PR): TEVTA will provide loans amounting to Rs10000-Rs100000 to the prisoners who will be imparted technical training in the jails. This loan will be given to them after release from jails to start their own business. Out of 13 jails, demand driven courses are being started from 15 February, 2016 in 4 jails while short courses will also be launched in remaining 9 jails from 15 Mach, 2016. An agreement between TEVTA and Home Department has already been signed and according to it, 6400 prisoners will be trained annually in 13 different jails across Punjab.

This was stated by Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh while meeting with Inspector General Prisons Mian Farooq Nazeer here at TEVTA Secretariat.

ACCA, SZABIST sign MoU

KARACHI (PR): Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the global body for professional accountants, and Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST) have signed a memorandum of understanding to promote professional qualification among the students in Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana and Islamabad campuses.

According to the MoU, SZABIST Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program will not only acquire maximum exemptions in ACCA qualification but they will also facilitate each other in academic materials which will help in teaching, training, and preparing students for examinations.

Furthermore, ACCA will conduct the R & I workshops for SZABIST students and faculty, providing relevant “train-the-trainer events” and support from the professional qualification’s learning and content partners.

For SZABIST, this will imply access to online education hub consisting of ACCA’s paper specific resources and technical articles for faculty and students, as well as participating in the Student’s brand manager program.
