PESHAWAR - The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission on Tuesday arrested former secretary food and social welfare Sahibzada Fazl Amin over corruption charges and for violating the government rules in appointments.

An official communiqué stated that the accused had violated the government rules and regulations with impunity in his department. He allegedly appointed some of the relatives of the former provincial minister Sitara Ayaz in grade 17 and 18 without observing the rules.

It stated that the accused had opened an account in a private bank without bringing it to the notice of the Finance Department in which millions of rupees under the head donors’ fund were credited and debited.

It stated that the accused had opened fake child protection units in 11 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in papers whereas as a matter of fact these were meant to draw travelling allowances from the bank over fake papers.

It further stated that the former provincial minister Sitara Ayaz and four co-accused including Murad Ali, Ejaz Khan, Bilal Khan and Muhammad Zafar had already obtained bail before arrest from the Peshawar High Court.

The officials of the KP Ehtesab Commission arrested the former secretary Sahibzada Fazl Amin. Fazl Amin will be produced before the accountability court today.
