ISLAMABAD - A three-member delegation led by the Chief Election Commissioner of Nepal, Dr Ayodee Prasad Yadov visited the Election Commission of Pakistan to learn from the experiences of Pakistan for holding a gigantic exercise of polls at grassroots level.

Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Muhammad Raza welcomed the guests and briefed the delegation about the salient features of local bodies polls conduced in Pakistan as the visiting team wanted to know how Pakistan successfully concluded the LG polls .

The delegation was briefed in detail about the overall structure, functions and mandate of the ECP, including training and appointment of the polling staff, preparation and updating of electoral rolls and printing of ballot papers etc.  

Dr Ayodee expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to the Election Commission of Pakistan and applauded the ECP over the successful conduct of huge Local Government Elections in Pakistan.

He told that as Nepal has not conducted Local Government elections for the last eighteen years, therefore, this visit will help the Election Commission of Nepal in undergoing the exercise of local government elections.
