MURREE/Islamabad - Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has vowed on Tuesday that loadshedding will be overcome during the present government's tenure.

He was addressing a public gathering after inaugurating the renovated building of General Post Office Murree on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister said that the promises of development made to the people of Murree will be fulfilled during the next two and half years.

He announced construction of a hospital and university equipped with modern machinery and facilities.

Nawaz Sharif said a water supply plan has been prepared for the area, and the shortage in this regard will be overcome.

He also directed to ensure supply to gas to every house in Murree. The Prime Minister said he himself would supervise the development projects in Murree and also ensure provision of the required funds. Referring to the programme of restoring the natural beauty of Murree, he said that the renovated building of Murree is a model for other historical heritage in the area. He said that the heritage of Mall Road Murree will also be protected.

Earlier, the Prime Minister inaugurated the renovated building of GPO Murree.

He inspected different parts of the building and the postal museum.He was briefed about the building. The GPO Murree building has been restored in its original shape of 1930 after the renovation.

The restoration of the building is part of the Prime Minister's package to beautify the natural beauty of Murree, and it is a gift for the residents and the tourists.

Meanwhile, a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Murree reviewed development projects in Murree.

It was attended by Federal Ministers, Pervaiz Rashid, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Punjab Minister Raja Ashfaq Sarwar.

Hamza Shahbaz and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Dr. Asif Kirmani were also present in the meeting.

PM ASKS QATARIS TO INVEST IN HYDRO SECTOR: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif yesterday asked the visiting Qatari delegation to take advantage of the investment opportunities, especially in the highly profitable hydro-power sector in Pakistan. Talking to the delegation in Islamabad, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan is fast emerging on the map as a country with strong macro-economic indicators.

PM Nawaz said: “We are putting in place a robust economic framework to steer Pakistan to the group of top progressing nations in the next decade.”

He also asked the visiting Qatari delegation to invest in the highly profitable hydro-power sector of Pakistan, which offers tremendous investment opportunities. “The brotherly relations between the two countries will be strengthened by increased economic relations,” the prime minister said. Members of the delegation informed that Pakistan is a different country under the present government and the prime minister’s leadership has generated great interest in the international investors’ community due to absolute transparency and investor-friendly policies.

“We are exploring opportunities of investment in various sectors in Pakistan and have received support from everyone,” the members of the Qartari delegation informed.
