LAHORE - Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) President and former prime minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has said Nawaz Sharif should take the nation into confidence regarding his meeting with Indian PM Narendra Modi.

Commenting over Nawaz-Modi meeting, the PMQ-Q President meeting that office of the Prime Minister is a public property and people have the right to question any action of the PM, whether it is personal or official. He questioned how it can be that the Indian Prime Minister comes to Pakistan quietly and leaves, the nation should be abreast in this regard, future of both the countries is linked with this meeting.

Ch Shujaat Hussain said that this not believable that he (Indian PM) had come only to cut a cake, Nawaz Sharif should have first got the cake of the Quaid-i-Azam cut as such to hide facts about Nawaz-Modi meeting from the nation is not proper. He said further that doubts have arisen on issuance of no statement after Nawaz Sharif Narendra Modi meeting, 150 Indians were roaming in Lahore without visa, what security is this and what national interest is there, the nation should be apprised about real facts of this meeting.

Talk on Pak-India ties today: Punjab University Pakistan Study Centre in collaboration with Pakistan National Forum is organizing roundtable discussion with reference to the recent visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Lahore on Wednesday December 30, 2015 at 11am at committee room of Centre for Undergraduate Studies. Former Pakistan High Commissioner to India Mr Aziz Ahmed Khan, PU VC Dr Mujahid Kamran, Syed Fakhar Imam, Air Marshal Zafar A Chaudhry, SM Zafar, Barister Shahid Hamid and former Punjab Governor Khalid Maqbool will participate.

Meanwhile, a meeting of Punjab University Advanced Studies and Research Board (AS&RB) was held under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran here on Tuesday which approved 07 PhD evaluation reports. Prof Dr Ismatullah Zahid, Prof Dr Muhammad Iqbal Chawla, Prof Dr Hassan Mobin Alam, Prof Dr Shahid Kamal, Prof Dr Javed Iqbal Qazi, Prof Dr Tahira Basharat, Prof Dr Moeen-ud-din-Nizami, Prof Dr Khalid Hussain, Registrar Prof Dr Liaqat Ali, Controller of Examinations Prof Dr Shahid Munir, Chairperson DPCC Prof Dr Kanwal Ameen, and Additional Registrar Dr Kamran Abid attended the meeting.
