JHANG - About 353,560 children aging less than five will be vaccinated against polio during a four-day anti-polio campaign being launched in the district on Monday (today).

This was informed at a meeting of the District Polio Eradication Committee held under DCO Shahid Niaz.

The meeting was informed that a total of 971 teams of the Health Department had been constituted for administering vaccine to children, while 30 zonal supervisors and 180 area incharges would monitor the campaign.

The DCO reviewed the arrangements for the campaign and directed officers concerned to utilise all-out efforts to make it a success. He urged that the drive be made effective by special awareness of parents so that no child under five could be left un-immunised.

He directed that a coordinated strategy be evolved for 100 per cent coverage of the anti-polio drive and maximum support be extended to the teams at the grass-root level. He stressed that the anti-polio campaign be taken as an important national task to root out the viral disease from the country. The meeting was attended by EDOs of the Health, Revenue, Education.
