KARACHI - Two activist of Sunni Tehreek (ST) were gunned down in an incident of target killing here in the limits of Garden Police Station on Sunday.

Police said Sohail Ahmed and Saleem Qadri, activists of ST, were sitting near party office located in Usmanabad when gunmen on two motorbikes appeared and sprayed bullets. Both the activists sustained bullet wounds and died on the way to Civil Hospital Karachi. The bodies of deceased were handed over to the family after autopsy while a case of double murder was yet to be registered.

Police said both workers were busy in preparations for ST public gathering at Nishter Park Karachi when gunmen targeted them and managed to flee.The funeral prayers of both workers were offered at a mosque at Usmanabad. A wave of panic gripped the area and all commercial and private activities came to a halt.

In another incident, Baldia police found body of a youth form Saeedabad area.

Police said that culprits had abducted the deceased and thrown his body near garbage-yard, KMC ground. The body was shifted to the morgue after autopsy where family of deceased identified him as Saleem Akhter.

 Police were yet to ascertain the cause of murder because deceased had no affiliation with any political party.
