DASKA - The Daska City police have registered a case against four nominated accused for making repeated obnoxious calls to Capt (r) Dr M Iqbal, the former medical superintendent of Daska Civil Hospital.

The booked accused include Muhammad Anees Mughal, Shazib Noor Elahi, M Usama and Muhammad Awais. He told the police that the accused had demanded Rs15 million extortion money, besides threatening him and his family members with dire consequences.

BOGUS CHECK: The Daska police have registered a fraud case against one Sarnawaz Ahmed for giving a fake cheque of Rs15m to rice dealer Hassan Raza Cheema The person of village Jessarwala had bought a big quantity of paddy from the dealer.

BIKE STOLEN: Thieves took away a motorcycle (STM-4183) of Dr. Muhammad Iqbal, the Medical Officer of BHU Chichraal-Pasrur, from outside of his house in village Satrah.

DEALER BOOKED: On the report of assistant director agriculture Sialkot, the Satrah police have registered a case against pesticides dealer Muhammad Bilal Mansha for selling spurious pesticides at his shop in Ghalla Mandi Siraanwali, Daska.

transmission tower’s braces stolen: Some thieves took away braces worth Rs280,000 of Wapda’s live 132kV transmission tower from sugarcane fields here at Bucheki, Phool Nagar Thursday. Meanwhile, one Manga Bibi, resident of village Wara Narian in the jurisdiction of Saddar Nankana Police, stacked 52,000kg bales of sugarcane worth Rs1.7m in the field which was taken away.
