OKARA - Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo has said that the PPP is moving forward successfully by promoting the politics of reconciliation.

Addressing a ceremony at Wasaywala on Sunday, he said that there was no threat to the democratic process and the government would complete its constitutional tenure. “President Asif Zardari has been working on the vision of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto,” he said and added that the PPP believed in the politics of reconciliation. Wattoo said that conspirators would fail in their designs to derail democracy.

MPA flays corrupt rulers: A Punjab assembly member has said that the flawed policies of the government had sent the national economy on the brink of destruction.

MPA Mian Mueen Khan Wattoo said the present government had given nothing to the people except mental embarrassment. He said that the pople were facing price hike, unemployment, poverty, corruption and lawlessness while the rulers were making an all-out effort for early elections. He urged the apex court to bring the corrupt politicians to book.

He said that the government should stop acting upon pro-America policies, adding that the whole nation is against the US.

Family looted on gunpoint: Five armed riders of a car held other car riders on gunpoint and deprived them of cash and valuables.

Girl abducted: Three unscrupulous persons abducted a girl here from Basti Gharib Abad Renala Khurd the other day.

Reportedly, Sadiya Bibi, daughter of Mohammad Aslam, son of Akbar, a of resident of Basti Gharib Abad Renala Khurd, was abducted by three accused including Mohammad Imran, Rauf and Tariq. The police have registered a case and launched hunt for the recovery of the girl.
