OKARA - Police have recovered snatched Rs500,000 of a trader from two robbers and arrested the accused.

Earlier, an exchange of fire was erupted between the police and the accused. Meanwhile, SHO Inspector Sadar police station Mehar Ismail was injured and shifted to a hospital for medical treatment. Mohammad Ashraf was proceeding to Imran Rice Mills by bike near 54/2.L Okara and from there after taking Rs 500,000 was returning back. In the meantime, the accused stopped him at gunpoint. They snatched the cash, mobiles and the motorcycle and fled away. The accused were then identified as Ghulam Hussain, Waheed Qaiser of 20/SP Pakpattan Sharif. DPO Dr Abid Raja and SP Investigation Dr. Rizwan reached DHQ Hospital Okara to enquire after the health of the Inspector.

Separately, dacoits looted four  shops at Saluwal Chowk. Robbers attacked and held shopkeepers Idrees Malik, Ali Raza, Yaqoob Mohabat Ali and customers at gunpoint. They snatched mobiles, thousands of rupees cash and valuables.
