HAFIZABAD - As many as 56 students of Govt Degree College allegedly attacked Superior College Hafizabad and damaged the college furniture and tortured the students there.

On the report of Principal Shahbaz Mushtaq, the city police have registered a case against Awais, Bilal, Dilawar, Ibrar, Shahid, Zohaib, Arif and 50 others on the charge of allegedly ransacking the official furniture, using abusive language against the students and torturing them with clubs.

DBA RE-ELECTION: Re-election for the slot of President of District Bar Association Hafizabad will be held on February 1.

The polling of the slots of DBA were held on January 14 and the Election Board had declared Syed Nasir Hussain Shirazi as president of the DBA defeating Muhammad Arshad by four votes. All other office-bearers had won the elections by huge margins.

Arshad had submitted a petition before the Punjab Bar Council alleging that bogus votes were cast in the election. Thereupon the PBC has ordered afresh polling for the slot of the President ship of DBA.

58 eunuchs registered in Hafizabad: As many as 58 eunuchs have been registered in the district by the Social Welfare Department enabling them to get CNICs and get enrolled as electorates in the voters’ lists, according to DO (Social Welfare) Nawaz Gohar.

The District Election Commissioner Aamir Javed issued them form-A and directed to approach the Nadra office for obtaining CNICs and after the issuance of CNICs they would be enrolled as electorates. The registration forms were being issued to the eunuchs in compliance with the verdict of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Nadra In-charge Mohsin Raza said that according to the orders of the apex Court, separate category for eunuch had been created in gender’s column.

He said that the eunuchs would be issued CNICs as soon a possible.
