Islamabad - Islamabad police have arrested 61 suspects during a search operation conducted in various areas of the city, a police spokesman said here on Thursday.

Police teams conducted search in the areas of France Colony, F-7/4, F-6/2, F-11/3, G-12, Ratti Kassi, G-13,  Kachi Abadi Ali Pur Kirpa and under-construction buildings as well as plazas there. They succeeded to nab 61 suspects who are being investigated further.

Furthermore, Islamabad police have arrested 10 outlaws from various areas of the city and recovered 1.10 kilograms hashish, 22 wine bottles, illicit pistols along with ammunition, and looted items from their possession. According to details, Kohsar police arrested bootleggers Ramash and recovered 22 wine bottles from him. Ramana police arrested accused Muhammad Usman and recovered stolen items from his possession. Shahzad Town police arrested a drug pusher Muhammad Kamran and recovered 1.10 kilograms hashish from him. Police team also arrested five persons namely Sajid Mehmood, Muhammad Ishaq, Muhammad Manzoor, Rehmat Shah and Sher Agha for their alleged involvement in encroachment. Koral police arrested an accused Usman and recovered one 30-bore illicit pistol along with ammunition from him. Police team also arrested accused Muhammad Sagheer involved in petrol selling illegally. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is under way.

Meanwhile, Motorway Police have seized 100 bottles of imported liquor form a car that was heading towards Lahore. As per details, officers of Motorway Police, SPO Fazil Basra, SPO Mohsin Malik, PO Ansar Baloch and PO Usman were on routine patrolling on Motorway (Islamabad to Lahore) when they intercepted the liquor-laden car. The officers seized 100 bottles of imported liquor worth thousands of rupees from a silver corolla car bearing registration number LEB-7136 and arrested 1 culprit. The liquor was kept in back trunk of the vehicle. The car joined motorway (M2) from Salam interchange and was moving towards Lahore. The 30-year-old accused Farast Hayat is resident of Mandi Bahauddin. The recovered liquor, vehicle and the accused were handed over to police station Sukheke for further investigations.
