LAHORE (PR): Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre organized its annual Iftar dinner at SKMCH&RC Lahore. The event was organized in honor of the hospital donors and well wishers in recognition of their support and cooperation for the hospital. The event was well attended as people from different walks of life were present.

Imran Khan, chairman board of governors Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said that Pakistanis are the most generous nation in the world. He also clarified that Zakat funds are solely spent on the treatment of poor cancer patient, the hospital has to contribute more funds through its other resources as annual collection of Zakat fell short of the cost incurred on treatment of poor patients. He appreciated the support and participation of the people at large for this noble cause and donated a plot worth Rs. 10 million to the Hospital. He said that a huge amount of Rs. 13 billion (approx) has already been spent on free treatment of poor patients and such example of free treatment cannot be quoted throughout the world.

Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Faisal Sultan, CEO Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre highlighted the achievements of this charitable institution.
