234 students complete internship at NTDC

LAHORE (PR): 234 students of 30 universities of Pakistan have completed their internship programme successfully at NTDC started 6 weeks earlier as an initiative of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). A certificate and stipend distribution ceremony was held here at WAPDA House.

MD NTDC Dr Fiaz Ahmad Chaudhry congratulated the students on successful completion of internship programme and said that their parents and teachers equally deserve congratulations since they have invested time and money on them.

NTDC`s internship programme is one of the biggest programmes where students from engineering, accounts & finance, information technology and human resource disciplines learn and flourish their technical and managerial skills from its experienced manpower of versatile departments. A written exam of internees was conducted, wherein Burhan Ahmad of UET, Ms Tayyaba of LCWU, Miss Subata Khrushid of Kinnaird College, and Mr Umar Sajjad of University of Sargodha stood first in their disciplines respectively. Later, MD NTDC Dr Fiaz A Chaudhry gave away the certificates along with stipend to the internees.


TMUC launches ABE study programmes

LAHORE (PR): The Millennium University College (TMUC) Lahore, a project of Roots Millennium Schools, hosted an event at its campus in Bahria Orchard for the launch of Association of Business Executives (ABE) Qualifications in Pakistan. This is the first of its kind degree in Pakistan. Recently, in this regard, a conference was arranged in Bahria Orchard Lahore.

ABE Qualifications are aimed at providing students with skills which are of immediate use to allow them to stand out in the workplace.

CEO of ABE, Gareth Andrew Robinson was present at this occasion in Bahria Orchard Lahore, where he interacted with students from Lahore and provided them with further details related to the ABE study programmes along with career counseling for their future options in the job market.

The Millennium University College (TMUC) is a project of Roots Millennium Schools and is the fastest growing trans-national University in Pakistan which offers a variety of international qualifications to its students in affiliation with Universities and examination boards based in the United Kingdom and Malaysia in disciplines as diverse as law, business, economics, accounting, fashion and textiles and engineering. LEAD organises 2nd

session of Cohort 19 of LDP

Ali Tauqeer Sheikh, CEO, Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD) Pakistan, said this while welcoming participants to the second session of Cohort 19 of the Leadership Development Program (LDP). Cohort 19 focuses on the emerging issues and approaches to building resilience of cities, while harnessing their economic growth, social development and climate mitigation potential.

Eminent urban sector experts, including Tasneem Siddiqui, Arif Hasan, Roland D’Souza, Dr. Shaukat Hayat Khan and ShahnazWazir Ali shared their knowledge and expertise on the subject. The participants also visited the headquarters of Karachi Investment Development Corporation Limited (KIDCL) to learn about various aspects and features of the planned Mass Transit Lines in Karachi city.

LEAD’s Fellowship Programme exclusively aims to build the capacity of professionals from various sectors across Pakistan. LDP is LEAD Pakistan’s most popular and vibrant capacity building programme, which has completed 18 cohorts (batches) to-date. The participants of LDP have acquired the skills and knowledge, which made them cross-sectoral leaders in their own communities and on the world stage. Currently there are over 200 professionals from Pakistan and over 3,000 LEAD members across the world that have completed this program and become Fellows of LEAD’s global network.


Hascol achieves yet another milestone

LAHORE (PR): As an extension of the company’s aggressive attempt to deepen its foot prints, the new vision of the Hascol fleet was unveiled in a closed internal corporate ceremony at the Hascol ZYCO terminal, where Mumtaz Hasan Khan, Chairman & CEO, inaugurated the first batch of the company owned, company operated tank lorries. The fleet has been designed in line with international standards, well equipped with state-of-the-art tracking systems and will comprise of a total of 250 vehicles.

LAHORE (PR): Huawei Consumer Business Group has announced its 2016 half year financial results: Sales revenue in the first half of 2016 increased by 41% year-on-year to $11.6 billion. Smartphone shipments stood at 60.56 million, a year-on-year increase of 25%. According to IDC, global smartphone shipments in the first half of 2016 increased by just 3.1%, indicating that Huawei’s growth has significantly outperformed the market.

Huawei Consumer Business Group Chief Executive Officer Richard Yu said, “We saw particularly fast growth in traditionally high-end smartphone markets such as Europe and emerging markets including North Africa, Central Asia & Latin America.”
