SAHIWAL/SHEIKHUPURA-Seven persons were killed in separate incidents occurred in different areas here the other day.

According police, In Chak 9/111-L Sahiwal, four persons were killed and 11 others sustained critical injuries in an attack by rivals over old enmity. The police said that three brothers - Safdar Ali, Mumtaz and Muzammil were going to their fields for collecting firewood when their rival identified as Muhammad Anwar, along with 22 accomplices, shot them dead. The accused also opened fire on the locals when they attempted to stop them from firing. As a result, 12 persons including Altaf Hussain, an operator in Sahiwal Police Control Room, got injured. Altaf Hussain was shifted to hospital where he breathed his last. The police registered a case against the accused and started investigation.

In Sheikhupura, three persons were killed in different localities of the district. According to police, a 35-year-old man electrocuted after he touched an electric wire while working in a factory located on Kala Khatai Road. The deceased identified as Sana Ullah was working in the factory when he accidentally touched the electric-wire. As a result, he got severe burns and was shifted to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The Ferozewala Police are investigating.

On the other hand, a youth was crushed to death in tehsil Muridke. The police said that the deceased, identified as Attique Ahmed, was on the way back home when a speeding truck crushed him to death. The Muridke Saddr Police are looking into the incident.

While a labourer died after falling off a ladder in a factory in Bhiki area. According to police, the deceased Bashir Ahmad was climbing a ladder, carrying a load on his head. When he slipped and fell off the ladder. He was shifted to hospital but could not survive. The Bhiki Police are investigating the incident.
