LAHORE - Punjab Inspector General of Police Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera yesterday distributed ATM cards among the widows and heirs of policemen who died during their services.

The police department has increased subsistence allowance for the families of deceased from Rs2,500 to Rs5,000 per month.

According to the provincial police officer, the initiative was taken to facilitate the widows and families of police officials who died during their service tenure.

In this regard, a simple ceremony was held at Al-Hamra Hall yesterday. Lahore Capital City Police Officer Muhammad Aim Wains, DIG (Operations) Dr Haider Ashraf, and additional-IG Finance Sohail Khan were also present on this occasion.

In Lahore, at least 260 families will be given ATM cards so that they could withdraw cash from nearby bank machines instead of paying repeated visits to police offices for payments.
