KARACHI - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday stressed the need to save Karachi from evil forces through the prudent use of vote during the local bodies elections.

Imran expressed these view while addressing corner meetings in various areas of metropolis including Banaras Chowk, Five Star Chowrangi, Sultanabad, Kakri Ground Liyari, Abul Hassan Isphani Road, Sohrab Goth and Daud Chowrangi on Sunday.

He said aid that courageous citizens of Karachi would vote the PTI-JI alliance on December 5 to get rid of clutches of those forces occupying the city for several decades. He said the people should not give vote to the parties whose leaders live abroad or they have assets abroad. He said that saving Karachi is duty of everyone. He said he had come here to save Karachi. He said the corrupt people have formed their unions and if a corrupt man is arrested other corrupt people make hue and cry.

He vowed that the party elected representatives would resolve their local issue if they make his party victorious. He further asked the workers and supporters to launch door-to-door campaign to convince the people and asked youth to convince their parents to vote for the PTI.

Vowing to eliminate the ethnic based politics in Karachi, the PTI leader said that citizens are ready to bring change, if the people rightly vote, then city mayor will be from the JI-PTI. He said party after coming in power, they would depoliticise the police.

The PTI chairman said that during the last two year about 430 billion were sent aboard from Karachi. He said that it is the best formula to cause infighting in a nation by creating divides among the people on various lines and the country largest city –Karachi - was also divided on the basis of Sindhi, Urdu and other languages.

He said that the criminals and grabbers have found a place in the corridors of power. He said these people rule the country in turn and befool the people in the name of democracy. He said that if their government gets one more year in the KP, his party would not need to run any electioneering campaign.

Earlier, addressing a big corner meeting at Banaras Colony, he said there is dire need to end the monopoly of a particular party on Karachi so that the citizens of this mega city could get their due rights.

Imran Khan said the people of Karachi should vote for 'bat' and “Tarazo” so as to pave way for resolving the lingering issues of Karachi. He said there is a dire need of bringing a change in every sphere of life including politics. He said that the politicians come in power to maximise their wealth but his party believed in serving the people. He hoped that on December 5 the fate of this city would be changed for good.

Earlier addressing a prize distribution ceremony organised by Insaaf Student Federation in Korangi, the PTI chairman declared that the PML-Nawaz government as dictators. He said that devolution of power is real democracy and the PTI had empowered the people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Now the people of KP have the authority to appoint teachers in schools and handle other matters.

IMRAN HAD BREAKFAST AT ALL-ROUNDER WASEEM AKRAM RESIDENT: The PTI chairman who is on the Karachi visit to boost party election campaign ahead third phase of local government election in Sindh, spend a busy day in the city. Imran Khan began his campaign after having breakfast at the residence of former cricketer Wasim Akram. All-rounder Wasim’s wife Shaniera was also present on the breakfast table. The PTI leaders including Dr Arif Alivi, Imran Ismail and Faisal Wada were also present on the occasion.

Talking to media men, Imran said there was a little bit democracy during the rule of former President Pervez Musharraf but now Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had put the democracy on path of dictatorship. PM Nawaz acquired votes by announcing various packages while the Election Commission of Pakistan has shown complete partiality in this regard.

To a question, Imran said that the people of Karachi had always shown their love and came out on roads to welcome him.
