According to a report by the National Telecommunication and Information Technology Security Board (NTISB) on Sunday, foreign intelligence agencies are tracing and intercepting Islamabad’s phone calls to ministers and important personalities.

The board said that several tracking devices have been installed at the Diplomatic Enclave and Constitution Avenue that are designed to infiltrate telephone calls and messages.

Senate Standing Committee on Interior Chairman Abdul Rehman Malik, while taking notice of the incident directed the Interior Ministry to submit its report within 10 days and track down the complex machinery.

“The NTISB report points to the involvement of foreign intelligence agencies which are intercepting calls in Islamabad,” he said, adding that spying on any country is a violation of international laws.
