KARAK - A Divisional Superintendent Police (DSP) and his driver were killed when some terrorists fired at them after colliding their pick-up van with police vehicle, official sources disclosed on Sunday. According to police officials, Shafqatullah Khattak, DSP of Anti- Terrorism Squad Bannu, was going his home in Latamber, a village of Karak district, late night between Saturday and Sunday. When he reached near a dry nullah, some terrorists first collided their pick-up (IDT-3580) head-on with the police vehicle (NWFP- M2024 Peshawar) and after that fired indiscriminately at the police officials. As a result of the incident, DSP Shafqatullah Khattak and his driver Naeemullah Shah died on the spot. The gunmen of the DSP also fired in retaliation and killed two terrorists on the spot. A gunman Farman Ali was also injured in the incident. There are unconfirmed reports that one of the killed terrorists was a foreigner. When TheNation contacted DSP Headquarters Anwar Saeed Kundi for comments, he said that terrorists had ambushed to kill Shafqatullah Khattak. He also confirmed that two terrorists had been killed in the incident.
