DAMBULLA - Two for 1, 14-2, 14-3 and at the end of the innings, it was 102 all out, this thiny performance of skiny skipper Misbahul Haq made unanswered against tough opponents Sri Lanka at the latter's home ground.

Misbah lost 15kg weight in a month but he believed this was not the reason of his poor show in the series because he along with other batsmen ignored the basic techniques and condition of the wickets in the pressure match. "This is the most pathetic performance of the team in ODI, which couldn't be justified," Misbah lamented.

After the worst defeats against Sri Lanka in the series decider, the most successful batsman of the last two years still believes that the team's comeback is just a victory away against a tough opponent and he thought it wouldn't take too much time.

During the press conference, Misbah also grilled the batsmen especially Umar Akmal who played unprofessional cricket in this series decider. "Every player should take his responsibility and play his role otherwise it wouldn't be in team's favour," he said

Misbah also defended his decision of batting first and said there was no difference in the pitch's behaviour in both the innings which was later endorsed by Sri Lankan captain Angelo Mathews. After the conclusion of the worst ever tour of Sri Lanka, Misbah applauded the performance of Fawad Alam, Wahab Riaz and Sohaib Maqsood which according to him the positive outcomes of this series. He appreciated the fast bowlers for taking early wickets in their opening spells which was an area of problem in the past for them.

Winning captain Angelo Mathews was quite happy with his team's sparkling performance. He said the team planned with coaches against number 1 to 8 batsmen of Pakistan. Bowlers bowled accordingly and led the team to a sterling victory.                    –Azhar Khan
