Islamabad - Capital Development Authority (CDA) has started taking possession of land in Kuri Village with the mutual consent of the locals and has also started payment of compensations to the affectees of Kuri Model Village.

According to a statement issued by CDA, the Machinery Pool Organisation Directorate (MPO) of the Authority has started levelling and other development activities on the acquired land.

During the first phase, possession of Sub Sector A of Kuri Model Village has been completed. The CDA got the possession of land in Sub sector A of Kuri Village with the mutual consultation and dialogue with the local residents in peaceful environment. The Authority has also decided to constitute a scrutiny committee in the light of directives of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), which will submit its recommendations to the management after reviewing and all the issues related to Kuri Model Village.  “The CDA, acting upon the policy of mutual consultation and dialogue, will not only ensure the resolution of the issues of the affectees but will also initiate the development work in Model village Kuri after getting possession of land from the locals in peaceful and mutually agreed manner,” statement added.

Earlier, the project was delayed due to the fake affectees and other problems.
