Pakistan is blessed with significant oil reserves. However, due to government’s ignorance this natural resource has not explored or extracted until now. In the absence of modern petroleum extraction techniques and reinforced infrastructure the recovery factor for oil from wells and other reserves is very low. There are many reports and researches addressing the discovery of large oil and gas reserves in the country, during last years, but all these explorations have ended in vain. I request the Petroleum Ministry to facilitate exploratory activities and support refinery operations in Pakistan so that we can become self sufficient in fuel and do not waste foreign exchange in importing oil.
