Rawalpindi - The court of an additional session judge on Thursday extended pre-arrest bail of renowned TV actress and anchor Mishi Khan till August 17 in a money fraud case. The court also ordered the investigation officer to complete investigation into the case and submitted his report on the next date of hearing.

When Additional Session Judge (ASJ) Rana Zahid Iqbal resumed hearing in the case, the accused famous TV actress Mishi Khan appeared before the judge along with her lawyer Raja Muhammad Nazir Advocate. However, the lawyer of the complainant homeopathic Dr Afshan Khan did not attend the hearing as his Munshi told the judge that the lawyer was engaged in another case with the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

Arguing before the court, Raja Muhammad Nazir pleaded that the investigation of the case was yet not completed while his client has to obtain video clips of advertisement campaign of clinic and beauty saloon of homeopathic Dr Afshan Khan from Karachi to present before the investigators. He said that the police were yet to verify the bank accounts of the complainant and receiver to ascertain the fact as to who cashed the amount from bank and in which account it was deposited.

He added that Mishi Khan has nothing to do with the case directly as the complainant issued bank cheque in the name of Khurshid Anwar, the manager of an Islamabad-based company KH Marketing. He also apprised the court that his client was an anchor and had to record TV shows in Karachi in connection with Independence Day. Therefore, the court should grant extension in pre-arrest bail to Mishi Khan .

He said that homeopathic doctor handed over bank cheque to KH Marketing Manager Khurshid Anwar instead of Mishi Khan . In light of an inquiry report ordered by City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi, the New Town police booked Mishi Khan and an owner of a marketing company Shehzad Waseem on charges of swindling Rs450,000 from a homeopathic Dr Afshan Khan for running advertising campaign of her clinic and beauty saloon in media.
