PESHAWAR  - To review the Hajj arrangements including security and facilities to pilgrims at Haji Camp and Bacha Khan Airport, a high level meeting was held here on Thursday.

According to details, a pre-Hajj arrangement meeting was held at Haji Camp Peshawar, which was presided over by Director Hajj Shakeel Ahmad Sethi and the meeting was attended by Airport Security Chief Shad Nawaz Khattak, representatives of PESCO, anti-narcotics department, custom department, immigration, police, health, water & sanitation agency, Saudia, PIA & Shaheen Airlines as well as Mezan and other banks.

In the meeting it was decided that relevant departments would complete establishment of their offices/ booths at Haji Camp up to 12th August 2015 to facilitate the pilgrims properly. The security escort would accompany the pilgrim's busses from Haji Camp to airport. The relatives of the pilgrims would not be allowed to accompany the pilgrims to airport.

In order to avoid any difficulty the pilgrims who want to take necessary medicines along with them should pack them at dispensary in Haji Camp well before departure to airport.

The pilgrims of nearby areas can be stayed at home but would have to reach Haji Camp six hours before flight while those of far-flung areas would stay at Haji Camp.

Earlier addressing the meeting, the Director Hajj Shakeel Ahmad Sethi informed the meeting that the first Hajj flight would leave for Saudia Arabia on 17th August 2015 while the last flight on 17th September 2015. He further said that a total of 24386 pilgrims from KP and FATA would perform Hajj under government and private Hajj schemes. Out of which 13014 will perform Hajj under government scheme while 11372 under private scheme.

The participants of the meeting on the behalf of their departments and organizations assured the director Hajj of full co-operation and director Hajj thanked them for extending co-operation in this regard.
