Nine persons including a woman were killed in various incidents occurred in different parts here on Thursday.

According to details, in Vehari three persons were killed in a road near 37 Phattak on Burewala Road here on Thursday. Ishfaq Sattar, Muhammad Ramzan and Haleema Bibi, residents of 541/EB were on the way to Vehari District courts on a motorcycle (VRM-3834).

In the meanwhile near 37 Phattak on Burewala Road, a Lahore-bound bus on the way from Vehari hit the bike. As a result all three motorcyclists were killed instantly. Following the incident, citizens blocked the road and protest against the bus driver and did not let the Rescue 1122 shift the bodies. However, negotiation between the Machiwal Police and protesters, the rescuers were allowed to shift the dead bodies to RHC Machiwal.

In Jhang, two cousins were killed in road accident on Jhang-Faisalabad Road. 27-year-old Sajad, son of Allah Yar along with his cousin 25-year-old Abdul Rauf, son of Ghulam Jaffar, resident of Chimbran Wali was going to Jhang on a bike. When they reached near Adda Kulli Faqir, a speeding passenger bus coming from the opposite direction hit the bike.

Resultantly, both the cousins died on the spot. In another road mishap which also took place on Jhang-Faisalabad Road, a cyclist was crushed to death.

Reportedly, Muhammad Iqbal, a resident of Jhang Saddr was going on a cycle when near railway crossing on Faisalabad Road, speeding car crushed him to death.

Similarly, a youth strangulated his elder brother. Reportedly, alleged culprit 24-year-old Shehzad developed illicit relations with Asma, wife of his elder brother 32-year-old Shafat Hussain. His elder brother advised him to mend his ways but it angered him.

The other night when Shafat was asleep on the rooftop of his home, the accused allegedly strangulated him. The Kutwali Police have registered a murder case against Shehzad.

In another mishap, the mother of two children was electrocuted. Khurshed Bibi, a resident of Chak 144/JB Peeranwala sustained electric shocks from a pedestal fan and breathed her last on the spot. On the other hand, a young man ended his life by swallowing poisonous pills. As per details, 22-year-old Aamir Abbas, son of Nasir Bhatti, a resident of Mohallah Ghosia of Rodoo Sultan, ran a General Store. He quarrelled with his parents over a petty family issue. At which disappointed Aamir committed suicide by swallowing poisonous pill. He was the sole son of his parents.
