Team: Bournemouth

Key players:

Callum Wilson

The Coventry-born striker bagged 23 goals for the Cherries last season and has become a subject of interest for many Premier League sides. Having played for England at U-21 level, Wilson is one of the heroes of last season for Bournemouth. If Wilson adapts to the topflight quickly, he could be a huge factor for the Cherries in their bid for survival.

• Sylvain Distin

Distin became the highest-earning player for Bournemouth when he joined on a free transfer from Everton. Distin has behind him the experience of 14 seasons in the topflight. The French veteran could prove to be highly astute. He provides Bournemouth with the experience that they lack in defence. He could pass on the knowledge to his new defensive colleagues which could prove to be invaluable. The age factor coming in, Distin was exposed last season at Everton and could suffer against the pace of Premier League strikers.

Summary:

Bournemouth were on a dream-run last season under Eddie Howe, but the Premier League is a whole new ball game. The Championship winners will have trouble in replicating the form that they had last season against top-notch teams that have, to say the least, Premier League experience. Their small budget does not allow them to spend wildly, but they must spend their money wisely on players that could be useful. They have brought in Ghana international Christian Atsu on loan who spent the last season at Everton. He could add pace and ability to a relatively inexperienced squad.
