LAHORE – Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf can end some of the major problems faced by the country, including the energy crisis if provided an opportunity to make the next budget, offered PTI central president Javed Hashmi.

He was addressing hundreds of party activists in front of the Wapda House, after leading a protest rally against load shedding here on Friday.

Javed Hashmi said that it seemed difficult that the corrupt rulers would allow a party which believed in bringing a real change in Pakistan to make the next budget.  While asserting that the next budget would be another anti-masses budget, Hashmi maintained that the rulers whether in Islamabad or Punjab were bent upon eliminating the working classes.

He said that the PML-N could not defend itself by taking out mere protest rallies against loadshedding and constituting energy board, as managing energy had also become a responsibility of the provinces after passage of the 18th amendment.

The PTI central president said that the PPP-led government spent billions of rupees of public money on rental power units to feed their luxurious lifestyles, adding that the Supreme Court had held former water and power minister Raja Pervez Ashraf responsible for the corrupt practices in the projects.  He claimed that President Asif Zardari and PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif were two sides of the same coin and warned that PTI would grab power from the corrupt rulers through the people. He said that PTI in the leadership of Imran Khan would bring a true change in the country and solve the problems of all segments of the society.

Addressing the rally’s participants Khursheed Mehmood Kasuri said that the current ruling coalition had never made any sincere efforts to provide relief to the common man; instead, it kept busy in looting and plundering the public funds through various unwise plans, which include the rental power projects.

While saying that the people could not be fooled anymore, he claimed that the masses especially the youth had now rallied behind the PTI and Imran Khan to vote the sitting rulers out of power in the next polls.

PTI leaders, Ijaz Chaudhary, Ahsan Rasheed, Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed and others also spoke on the occasion. While Dr Murad Raas, Karamat Khokhar, Shahid Zulfikar, Abrar-ul-Haq, Zaheer Khokhar, Ishtiaq Malik, Andleeb Abbas, Rana Akhtar and other prominent PTI leaders participated in the rally.
